#WeddingBelle: 10 Pieces of Advice for Dress Shopping

So, the moment that you've waited for is finally here- you get to try on beautiful, glamorous wedding dresses! Here are 10 pieces of advice that I learned from my own shopping experience:

1. Walk in with zero expectations.
Don't making the mistake of thinking "I'm going to buy a dress today" or "my dress will look exactly like this" because chances are, you'll leave disappointed. In my case, I went into the store just to try on some styles and see what I liked; so imagine my huge excitement when I found my dream dress and purchased it that day! It was totally unexpected and made the experience so much more enjoyable.
Paperwork was all filled out and I was so excited to try on dresses!!

2. Set a budget...
even before you enter the store. This way, you won't waste your time on the wrong dresses, and you'll avoid the heartbreak that comes with falling in love with a dress that's out of your price range.

3. Leave your insecurities at the door...
because they won't do anything to help you! Instead, focus on the best parts about you and make sure the dress highlights those features. If you're concerned about weight, just know that dress shops have ALL different shapes and sizes so your selection is definitely NOT limited.

4. Be open to anything and everything.
Don't you dare disregard a dress style without first putting it on. I'm not saying that you have to try on every single dress in the store, but I tried on a ballgown and while it looked horrendous on me, I was glad that I'll NEVER have to think "what if." If anything, my mom and I got a huge laugh out of how ridiculous I looked under all the poof!
Just to confirm, this is NOT the dress I bought (that one will remain a surprise.) But this gown was so large at the bottom, my mom and I couldn't stop laughing. I mean, it's beautiful but... how would I sit in that?!

5. Decide beforehand whether or not you want outside opinions.
Is this a decision you want to make on your own without any outside influences? Or do you want to hear what others think of the style, fit, embellishments, etc? Just remember, someone's opinion can really ruin a dress for you, or vice-versa. So be prepared for feedback that differs from your own opinion.

5.2. That being said, choose your company wisely.
It's important to think carefully about who you want to come with you. They may have a huge influence on which dress you purchase and on your overall shopping experience.

6. Don't second guess yourself.
If your first reaction is that the dress is uncomfortable or looks weird, don't over-analyze. Just say, NEXT! And, on the other hand, if you get that sudden feeling of "this may be the dress," don't talk yourself out of it either. From my experience, I was concerned that choosing the 2nd dress I tried on wasn't enough. I mean, there are so many dresses out there and I had only been to one store. But I'm so happy I didn't over-think it too much but I'm pretty sure I would have been back for that same dress anyways.

7. Complete the package with accessories.
You'll never know what the dress will truly look like until you also try on some heels, a veil, jewelry, etc. My true a-ha moment was when I tried on a veil and tiara with my dress. Everything just seemed to come together and I knew it was the dress for me!

8. Don't get overwhelmed...
by the THOUSANDS of dresses out there. Instead, sort through them quickly by deciding what you like and dislike about the first few dresses you try. You'll narrow your search instantly just by deciding on a certain feature, material, or shape.

8.2 Or discouraged.
Again, there are thousands of dresses in the world so don't feel frustrated if you don't find "the one" on your shopping trip. It's worth the wait, so just remember what you learned about your likes and dislikes and move on to the next location with that knowledge!

9. Work with the consultant...
and take full advantage of their help and expertise. They're there to show you options, help you get dressed, and give you advice from their various experiences. You basically have a wedding dress expert right in your corner!

10. Have fun!
This is the most important piece of advice. This may be a once in a lifetime experience so don't stress out! Try on the crazy styles, give a fashion show, laugh at what doesn't work and allow yourself to become emotional when you find that right dress.

After saying yes to the dress, my Mom and I celebrated with some champagne! Just kidding, but seriously, check out these HUGE champagne flutes we found at Michael's!! CHEERS!

Thanks to David's Bridal in Harrisburg for the fabulous experience and to my wonderful mother for joining me!

Social media is a huge part of life for most people these days. It allows us to stay connected to the world, communicate with our friends and be inspired by amazing ideas. That's why the #Cube is so cool; it takes social media to a whole new (and awesome) level.
First off, let's start with the physical appearance of the product. It has an 8" square LCD screen and comes in both black and white. It's also very lightweight and easy to carry or hold.

Want to "like" a photo? No problem! There's big heart button right on top of the #Cube and all it needs is a simple click.

In addition to the interaction you can have using the #Cube, it also makes an awesome display piece in your house. It can act as a digital picture frame and makes a really cool icebreaker. Plus, since you can search certain users and hashtags, you can use it to enhance the ambiance of a theme party too! And to recharge the battery, all you need is a USB port.
