#WeddingBelle: 4 Things To Do After Saying Yes

Hey there, fly ladies. I'm back from my holiday hiatus with some big news... I'M ENGAGED TO THE MAN OF MY DREAMS! And with that, comes all of the fun of planning a wedding! As you know, I'm all about easy, efficient and fun, so I'm very excited to bring to you the first post of my year-long wedding series, titled #WeddingBelle! Throughout this post series, which will take place in addition to my regular On The Fly posts, I hope to provide you with tips for brides-to-be, updates on my planning progress, ideas for the bridal party, and so much more! 

Check below for my list of things to do right after getting engaged! They're the perfect ways to kick off your wedding journey!

Get Inspired:

So far, my favorites sources of Wedding inspiration have come from Pinterest, The Knot (books, app and website,) and bridal magazines. There are also a ton of wedding blogs on the internet. While browsing, I've found amazing color combinations, helpful tips, efficient planning methods, and so much more. Plus, the more I look, the more excited I get about my own special day! 

Organize Yourself:

One of the first things I did after getting engaged (based on the advice from many websites and past brides) was create a separate email account just for wedding planning. Also, you'll need to create spreadsheets for a guest list, planning timelines and budget plans. Pick a Date: 

This one is definitely more of an art than a science. Here's what I've found while choosing my date:

  1. If you want to get married within the next year, you need to be flexible when it comes to the date. If you want a specific venue or church, they may not be available on the day you initially want.
  2. The earlier you pick a date, the better. You'll have more options to choose from.
  3. Consider the weather and narrow it down by season. This way, you have a few months to work with and you'll be pleased with any date within that time-frame.

Start Your Physical Journey:

Think about how much time you have and what your goal is. Whether it's losing weight, gaining weight, building muscle or maintaining your current figure, choose a fitness routine and a diet plan you can stick with for that amount of time. For fitness, I'm choosing the 30 minutes or 3 miles plan. So every day for the next 9 months, I will either exercise for 30 minutes or walk 3 miles. Additionally, I am going to follow the Weight Watchers Core Plan, where I am given a list of foods that I CAN eat and will follow that! I've done these things before and have lost 20 pounds in 2 months so I think at a steady pace, I can real my goal weight by October!
