5 Apps I'm Loving Right Now!

You know how much I LOVE finding new, practical and awesome apps. Well check out these 5 Apps that I'm Loving Right Now!

A must for any social media fan, this app connects to your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. Each day when you open the app, it will show you exactly what you've posted on the same day for years! It's so funny to see some of the photos, links and statuses I've posted. It's totally nostalgic and may even remind you to delete that one crazy photo of you in college :)

This app will make you and your friends say "NO WAY!" Available for the iPhone 5/5s/6, it uses the phone's own vibrations to rotate it 90, 180, 270 or 360 degrees! All while taking a high def panoramic photo! The only requirement is for the phone to be sitting on a polished surface like glass, marble or granite. It costs $1.99 but is totally worth is for some amazing shots and the groundbreaking technology.

Seriously the easiest way to transfer money. Hook up your account and with the push of a button, you can send your friend that $40 you owe her for a concert ticket, or pay your parents back after they loaned you that 20 bucks. Basically any personal payments you need to make, you can do with Venmo for free. And when you've received a payment, all you have to do is cash out and the money's deposited into your account. Plus, Venmo is part of ebay/paypal so you know there are some major security systems in place to keep your information safe. So easy and so convenient!

Brain Waves:
I would call this app completely revolutionary. It uses binaural sequences to emit different levels of frequencies. Combine these with the natural ambiance selections the app provides, or with your iTunes playlist. There are programs for everything from headache/hangover relief to motivation to deep sleep. It's hard to believe but I've been obsessed with this app since buying it 5 days ago. It's $4 but I've definitely used it enough for that to be worth it! I've been using the app in the morning, throughout the day and before bed. Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think!

Heads Up:
Perfect for on the go, this game of charades can literally be played anywhere. The player chooses a topic category and holds the phone to their head. While timed, the phone will show a word and the other players have to either act out or hint at what the word is until the player guesses correctly. See how many words you can guess in the allotted amount of time! This is super entertaining and perfect for any age.

Have you used any of these apps? Which is your favorite?!

#WeddingBelle: My 1st Month's Checklist

With less than 10 months to plan my wedding, I have so much to do! But I'm staying organized and avoiding stress by keeping a detailed check list. Here's what I've been able to check off in just the last 4 weeks:

  • Host an engagement party (my fiance made this one easy by planning a surprise party for me!)
  • Pick a date and time (October 17, 2015)
  • Set a budget
  • Book the church and the officiant
  • Book the reception venue (a local Country Club ballroom)
  • Create a guest list (I did this in a Google spreadsheet doc so that myself, my family, my fiance and his family could all access and update it.)
  • Block out hotel rooms
Next on the list are things like engagement photos, securing the bridal party, and choosing my color scheme. So stay tuned to see my checklists and my planning progress!

How To Host A Memorable Girls' Night In

I love my girlfriends and having them in my life is just so important. But, what's even more important is making the time to spend with them! Sometimes, a good, old-fashioned girls' night is exactly what you need! In fact, two weekends ago, I hosted a Girls' Night In with 6 friends of mine and it was an absolute blast.
So here are my tips to throwing an awesome party for your girlfriends:

1. Plan A Main Activity:
Determine the activity or event that will be the focus of your party. A few options include a Mary Kay Party, Movie Viewing, Passion Party, or Spa Night. It's best to plan the start of this about an hour after you've told guests to arrive; that way, they have some extra time to arrive and settle in before the festivities.

2. Create a Signature Cocktail:
Figure out what beverages you're going to serve and even put together a signature drink (whether it's alcoholic or non.) For example, Sangria is fun and easy to make in large quantities. For an added touch, make a drink that is in line with the party theme; here's a drink called the Glamorous Girl!

3. Decide on the Menu:
Think about whether you want appetizers, entrees, a 3 course meal or just desserts, and stick with it. Many guests will usually bring a dish of their own, so making just a few solid options should be enough. Just be sure to let the guests know what to expect in terms of food. Should they eat before they arrive? Should they come hungry? Give them a little heads-up in this area and everyone will be happy!

4. Don't Forget to Decorate:
You can have so much fun with this part of the party! Go full out and decorate with a particular theme in mind, or just add a couple balloons and fun napkins to enhance the ambiance.

Bonus- Hand out Party Favors:
Depending on the number of guests that are attending, this one could be too much of a task. But if you're inviting less than 10, a small "thanks for coming" gift will really excite your friends! For my girls' night in, I gave each guest a Valentine's Day cocktail glass filled with candy.

Have you ever thrown a girls' night?! How was the experience?

#WeddingBelle: 4 Things To Do After Saying Yes

Hey there, fly ladies. I'm back from my holiday hiatus with some big news... I'M ENGAGED TO THE MAN OF MY DREAMS! And with that, comes all of the fun of planning a wedding! As you know, I'm all about easy, efficient and fun, so I'm very excited to bring to you the first post of my year-long wedding series, titled #WeddingBelle! Throughout this post series, which will take place in addition to my regular On The Fly posts, I hope to provide you with tips for brides-to-be, updates on my planning progress, ideas for the bridal party, and so much more!

Check below for my list of things to do right after getting engaged! They're the perfect ways to kick off your wedding journey!

Get Inspired:

So far, my favorites sources of Wedding inspiration have come from Pinterest, The Knot (books, app and website,) and bridal magazines. There are also a ton of wedding blogs on the internet. While browsing, I've found amazing color combinations, helpful tips, efficient planning methods, and so much more. Plus, the more I look, the more excited I get about my own special day!

Organize Yourself:

One of the first things I did after getting engaged (based on the advice from many websites and past brides) was create a separate email account just for wedding planning. Also, you'll need to create spreadsheets for a guest list, planning timelines and budget plans. In fact, you should check out this past post I wrote about The Knot Wedding Planner app and everything it can do for you!

Pick a Date:

This one is definitely more of an art than a science. Here's what I've found while choosing my date:

  1. If you want to get married within the next year, you need to be flexible when it comes to the date. If you want a specific venue or church, they may not be available on the day you initially want.
  2. The earlier you pick a date, the better. You'll have more options to choose from.
  3. Consider the weather and narrow it down by season. This way, you have a few months to work with and you'll be pleased with any date within that time-frame.

Start Your Physical Journey:

Think about how much time you have and what your goal is. Whether it's losing weight, gaining weight, building muscle or maintaining your current figure, choose a fitness routine and a diet plan you can stick with for that amount of time. For fitness, I'm choosing the 30 minutes or 3 miles plan. So every day for the next 9 months, I will either exercise for 30 minutes or walk 3 miles. Additionally, I am going to follow the Weight Watchers Core Plan, where I am given a list of foods that I CAN eat and will follow that! I've done these things before and have lost 20 pounds in 2 months so I think at a steady pace, I can real my goal weight by October!

Are you currently planning a wedding, in a wedding or a newlywed?! I'd love to hear from you! How did you kick off your wedding planning?
