5 New Shows I'm Watching This Fall

I absolutely love spending my down-time relaxing with a great television show. But, there are so many different kinds on tv these days and it's hard to sift through until you find what you like. So, check out what new shows I'm watching this Fall and find a good show for you without wasting precious relaxation time!

How to Get Away with Murder:
If you're a fan of Grey's Anatomy and/or Scandal then you'll know what kind of riveting roller coaster you'll be for with this brand new Shonda Rhimes (the creator of both Grey's and Scandal) drama. The shows follows 5 law students as they work for their professor and highly-sought-after defense attorney (played by the amazing Viola Davis.) For the most part, each episode focuses on a new defense case, but also gives you clues to an even bigger story that breaks throughout the season. Every episode will have you on the edge of your seat! The is definitely my Fall Favorite!

GracePoint:

Though it's still in the first few episodes of the season, I've really started to like this mysterious drama. The plot surrounds the suspicious death of a young boy and the detectives (played by David Tennet of Dr Who, and XX from Breaking Bad) that try to piece together clues. Each episode reveals more about the murder and will have you piecing together puzzles and hints to find the real culprit! This show is definitely slower than How to Get Away With Murder but so far has a pretty solid plot and great actors.

Selfie:
In the 2014 age of social media, this sitcom is fits right in. It's about a girl who's entire life revolves around her virtual presence, until she finally realizes that she has no real friends or live social skills. So of course, she hires a Marketing Executive from her company to help re-brand her and her life! This show is light-hearted, funny and entertaining for viewers of any age. So happy that I gave this show a try.

Gotham:
I planned to skip this show at first, since I'm not big into comics or the Batman story-line. But after hearing great things from a co-worker of mine, I decided to give it a shot. While I'm sure the plot-line would be all the more compelling if you're a fan of the comic books, it's definitely not necessary! I've had no problems keeping up with the story-line and it's characters. This show has a great mix of action, drama and mystery that keeps each episode interesting and, usually, pretty shocking!

American Horror Story:

Although I haven't watching American Horror Story since the first season at the "Murder House," I had to add the newest season of Freak Show to this list. First, let me warn you that this show is certainly not for the faint of heart. With violence, horror and a strong sexual undertone, this show can be a bit much for many viewers. That being said, if you're looking for a show that's going to keep you on the edge of your seat week after week, this would be that show! Not to mention, the cast is full of people (such as Amazon Jane and Paul the Illustrated Seal) who have lived their whole lives being called freaks, and now they are getting the spotlight the recognition they deserve! Go check out American Horror Story's Facebook page for some Actor Spotlights that are pretty incredible!

Create Last-Minute (and inexpensive) Halloween Ambiance

Whether you're throwing a costume bash, preparing for trick or treaters or just a big fan of the holiday, there are lots of easy and inexpensive things you can do to ensure your Halloween decorations create a great, seasonal atmosphere. Check out a few of my favorite ways to create some last-minute Halloween ambiance and set the spooky mood:

We added cobwebs to the outside of the house which made it look totally spooky!
Cobwebs & Spiders:
A pack of Halloween cobwebs with plastic spiders is so inexpensive! You can pull, rip, and twist the material to fit any shape or size! Not to mention, a little goes a LONG way!

I love our amazing mantle that my dad put together. A glowing jack-o-lantern & skeleton lights!
Fun Lighting:
Lighting always adds great ambiance to any room or to the outside of your house. Whether it's a sting of light-up skeletons, strobe lights or black lights, you can usually find spooky lighting for cheap. Plus, it should last you throughout the next couple of years!

DIY Creepy Portraits:
This is by far my absolute favorite decoration that always scares at least a few party-goers. Just Google something like "creepy portraits" and print out your favorites. Then replace your picture frames around the house with these! I guarantee you that people will stop to look at your family photos, only to jump back in surprise!

Halloween Playlist:
Music is a must for this season! So playing some themed tunes in the background will definitely set the mood. Lucky for you, I created a Halloween Playlist last year for exactly this reason. So check out my post with the playlist and enjoy some spooktacular classics!

DIY Tissue Ghosts:
This is one of the easiest and cutest Halloween decorations. Plus, it's a perfect activity to do with kids! Just ball up a tissue (or use a lollipop if you want to give these out as goodies) and drape another tissue over the ball. Secure with a string, draw some eyes and voila- you've got a ghost that you can hang from the ceiling! Can't get much cheaper or easier than that!

Isn't our candy dish so creepy?! He makes noises and moves his eyes too!
Candy!
When in doubt, just make sure you have a lot of candy! At Halloween, sweets and treats are definitely people-pleasers, so a bowl with a wide variety will ensure that you're guests leave happy and in the Halloween spirit!

Mía Mariú: My New Go-To Makeup + Giveaway!

In a fast-paced lifestyle, makeup is one of the last things you want to think about so good makeup can definitely become one of your best friends. I'm talking easy-to-apply, all-day-lasting makeup. But, of course, that's easy to wish for, but can be so difficult to find! So whenever I do find a great makeup brand that makes my life easy and keeps my skin healthy, I love to share it!
I was recently sent a Mía Mariú makeup set, complete with blush, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. I absolutely loved trying out the set and found so many benefits to this makeup brand. Let me break down my absolute favorite things:

Mineral powder:
Both the blush and the eye shadows are mineral based. The consistency of the minerals is soft and fine, so it smooths over my skin evenly and makes application a breeze. The powder stayed on my skin all day and made my face look healthy and glowing! Perfect for those mornings when you're running late! Not to mention, they have so many shades of eye shadow so transitioning from a day-to-night look can just be the difference between shadows.

Smooth eyeliner:
Usually, I despise eyeliner pencils and I try to stay away from them at all cost. They always seem dry and leave a harsh black line around my eye. So, needless to say I was a bit hesitant about this eyeliner pencil as well. But, I'm happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised! The liner was incredibly smooth and moisturized, so the pencil just glided across the eyelid. Then, I used a q-tip to smudge the liner a bit, which worked like a charm! It ended up looking great and lasted a long time. Mía Mariú definitely changed my opinion on all eye liner pencils with this one.

Soft lips:
I was immediately impressed with Mía Mariú's selection of lipstick shades. I had such a hard time choosing the one I liked best, but I ended up going with a seasonal, Autumn color. The shade is an amazing bronze with a hint of shimmer, perfect for daytime or nighttime wear. Also, it really kept my lips moisturized and soft while I was wearing it. I couldn't stop rubbing my lips together!

My Mia Mariu makeup look!
Though I was not familiar with Mía Mariú before receiving their makeup line to test, they have certainly convinced me that their products are high quality and worth a buy. Their color selections are great and they really do put a focus on keeping your face beautiful, but also healthy- something I think we all an appreciate!

Want to try Mía Mariú makeup for yourself? Well, you're in luck!! I'm partnering with the company to giveaway a full makeup set, like mine!
The set will include:
  • Mineral Blush
  • Lipstick
  • 2 Mineral Eye Shadows
  • Eyeliner Pencil
  • Mascara
Trust me, it's an awesome prize and high quality makeup that will keep your look fresh, fun and of course, easy!!! ENTER BELOW & GOOD LUCK!

Dress for the Weather with Dress Me Daily

Weather can be unpredictable and can make getting dressed in the morning confusing. Especially during season changes, I'm constantly debating on what to wear and how to dress for the temperatures. And sometimes, just looking at the weather report isn't enough to give you an accurate idea of the day's forecast!

That's why I love Daily Dress Me. The site uses live weather reports and GPS to give you accurate weather predictions and clothing inspirations for each day! This has really helped me to visualize the weather and has cut my "getting ready" time down in the morning drastically!

Check out these week's weather and suggested style report for Harrisburg, PA! I love the fact that this week suggests jackets or sweaters, which are perfect for the chilly mornings that turn into warm, sunny afternoons!

And to compare, here are this week's predictions and style suggestions for Charleston, SC.

This site gets even better because you can switch to the men's version! So even men can benefit from Daily Dress Me.

#HelloKeurig + A Coffee Lover's Giveaway

As the autumn air rolls in, mornings and evenings become increasingly cooler. I can't think of anything better than waking up to a hot cup of coffee, or curling up in the evening with a nice book and a hot tea. So I was so lucky and excited to have received the Keurig 2.0 from Influenster to try out for myself!
This brand new Keurig coffee maker JUST hit the marketplace. It's the Keurig brand that you know and love, but totally upgraded. This deluxe machine features a digital screen where you can customize the display, set a timer and choose your settings for each cup of coffee. The best thing about a Keurig coffee maker is that it allows you to brew a single cup of gourmet tea, hot chocolate or coffee quickly. But the 2.0 also lets your brew a whole carafe of up to 4 cups, just like a regular coffee pot! I also really liked the fact that it holds a lot of water at once, so you don't have to refill every time you brew.

The only con that I discovered while using my fabulous Keurig 2.0 is the fact that it only accepts Keurig brand k-cups and carafe cups, which can sometimes be a little pricier than store or generic brands. But for someone like me, who doesn't drink coffee on a daily basis, it will definitely be a more efficient solution than a regular, boring, slow coffee pot!
I would definitely recommend the Keurig 2.0 to anyone looking for a fast and versatile coffee maker. With so many k-cup options and flavors, you'll be satisfied and warm all season long.

So let's celebrate the new season with a Coffee Lover's giveaway. Enter below to win a prize pack including:
  • A large "Cherish" coffee mug;
  • A bottle of Sugar Free vanilla syrup to add some flavor to your coffee;
  • Gourmet hostess napkins;
  • A chic mini notepad;
  • Chicken Soup for the Soul: Happily Ever After;
  • And a pocket-sized case of Altoids mints!
 a Rafflecopter giveaway

How do you say #HelloKeurig?
I received this product from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions and views expressed are my own.
